Russia-led coalition forces have said they will send peacekeepers to Kazakhstan to maintain stability, and have blamed protesters for bringing down the former Soviet Union. Enter into turmoil due to foreign intervention. This was released by the AFP news agency on the morning of Thursday, January 6, 2022.

Kazakhstan, which has been in Central Asia for many years, is seen as one of the most peaceful former Soviet republics. But in recent weeks, disagreements have escalated into protests and violence over rising gas prices.

Protesters took to the streets in the city, stormed a Kazakh government building and set fire to public property. As Russia accuses protesters of coming out of protest like this because of foreign arson, a United Nations (UN) spokesman on Wednesday called on all parties to exercise restraint. And turn to solving problems together peacefully.

In response to the violence and unrest, Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev has proposed to the six-nation Russia-led Security Treaty Organization (CSTO). A state formerly under the former Soviet Union) to curb what he called "terrorist groups" trained abroad.

The CSTO, currently chaired by the Armenian president, announced on its Facebook page that its peacekeepers would be sent to Kazakhstan in the near future to seek stability and normalization for a Central Asian country.
