Russian allies to send "peacekeepers" to Kazakhstan as UN calls on all parties to exercise restraint
Russia-led coalition forces have said they will send peacekeepers to Kazakhstan to maintain stability, and have blamed protesters for bringing down the former Soviet Union. In response to the violence and unrest, Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev has proposed to the six-nation Russia-led Security Treaty Organization (CSTO). A state formerly under the former Soviet Union) to curb what he called "terrorist groups" trained abroad.
The CSTO, currently chaired by the Armenian president, announced on its Facebook page that its peacekeepers would be sent to Kazakhstan in the near future to seek stability and normalization for a Central Asian country.
