Macau bans international flights for two weeks after Kovid-19 import case discovered

Macau has banned all foreign travelers from entering its territory for two weeks after finding three COVID-19s on foreign passengers. This was released by Reuters on Thursday, January 6, 2022.

The decision to impose the ban comes on the same day that Hong Kong on Wednesday this week also imposed travel bans on travelers from eight countries due to concerns over the spread of COVID-19. According to the Macau Health Office, the travel ban will apply to all passengers, foreigners or non-mainland Chinese, for two weeks from midnight on Sunday this weekend. Macau citizens or permanent residents traveling from another country, not China, will have to undergo at least 21 days of probation.

On Wednesday, Macau health authorities reported the discovery of three COVID-19 cases, all of which were asymptomatic as passengers from the United Kingdom and the Philippines.
