"Omicron" is on the rise in India's major cities, but hospitalization remains low

The Indian Ministry of Health on Wednesday identified Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, Chennai and Bengaluru as areas with alarming cases of COVID-19 infection, while India has so far detected the virus. More than 2,135 cases of the new Omicron mutation, including one in an elderly person and diabetes, have died from the mutation.
