More than 40 killed in Pakistan rain, snow

 ISLAMABAD: At least 41 people have been killed as Pakistan experiences heavy rains and snow for the first time in 2022. This is according to the release by the Chinese newspaper CGTN on Sunday, January 9, 2022.

 Pakistan's National Disaster Management Authority says more than 40 people have been killed and dozens more injured in various incidents involving heavy rains and snowstorms since the cold weather began. Since Friday this week.

 In the northern city of Murree, 22 people, including nine children, died in a snow-covered car while thousands of tourists rushed to the resort. Nine people were killed and 10 others were injured in heavy rains and snowstorms on Friday and Saturday this week in the northwestern province of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

 Heavy rains also killed 11 people in the eastern province of Punjab and in the southwestern Balochistan province, while dozens more were injured.
