China hopes Kazakhstan to return to stability soon
BEIJING: China expects Kazakhstan to return to stability as soon as possible, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Wang Wenbin said on Thursday. This is according to the release by the Chinese newspaper CGTN on Thursday afternoon, January 6, 2022.
In response to questions from reporters on Thursday about the situation in Kazakhstan, a focal country with China, Wang Wenping stressed that "China expects "The government of Kazakhstan will deal with the protests properly, which is an internal matter of Kazakhstan."
The remarks by the Chinese Foreign Ministry came after Russian-led coalition forces claimed they would send peacekeepers to Kazakhstan to maintain stability and blamed the group. Demonstrators who have been plaguing the former Soviet Union have fallen into disarray due to foreign intervention.
Kazakhstan, which has been in Central Asia for many years, is seen as one of the most peaceful former Soviet republics. But in recent weeks, disagreements have escalated into protests and violence over rising gas prices.
Protesters took to the streets in the city, stormed a Kazakh government building and set fire to public property. As Russia accuses protesters of coming out of protest like this because of foreign arson, a United Nations (UN) spokesman on Wednesday called on all parties to exercise restraint. And turn to solving problems together peacefully.
