 HANOI (Reuters) - Vietnam's Ministry of Health on Friday announced an additional 16,278 new cases of COVID-19 in the last 24 hours. This was released by Viet Nam News on the night of January 7, 2022.

 Hanoi, which is currently the epicenter of the outbreak, covered 2,723 new cases today, while Ho Chi Minh City reported 489 cases. The provinces with the highest number of cases were Hải Phòng (795), Bình Phước (716) and Khánh Hòa (790).

 In a report on Friday, the Vietnamese Ministry of Health also announced an additional 233 new deaths from COVID-19.

 As of the night of January 7, 2022, Vietnam had a total of 1,859,841 cases of COVID-19 infection, of which 1,479,048 cases were cured and the total number of deaths. 33,877 people.
