Israeli PM invites new German chancellor
Israeli Prime Minister Naftali Bennett held a telephone conversation with the new German chancellor on Tuesday.
Olaf Scholz and also invited him to visit Israel.
The talks between the two leaders took place just five days after Scholz was sworn in to take over the new post.
Israel is also trying to persuade world leaders to end its nuclear talks with Iran.
"Bennett thanked Scholz for his commitment to Israel and especially for security," Bennett said in a statement.
The two leaders also praised the two countries' diplomatic ties in the past and agreed to continue fruitful cooperation, as well as economic and security operations.
