 (Islamabad): Most Muslim countries have pledged to establish a humanitarian fund for Afghanistan, where millions of people are facing famine and severe hardship during the winter. This was released by Reuters on Monday, December 20, 2021.

 The announcement was made by Pakistani Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi at a meeting of foreign ministers from the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC). Islamabad on Sunday last weekend.

 According to the Pakistani foreign minister, the humanitarian fund will be set up with the support of the Islamic Development Bank, but did not specify the amount, while the meeting also did not recognize the Taliban government in Afghanistan. A warning that the humanitarian situation in Afghanistan will worsen if humanitarian or emergency assistance is not addressed.

 The humanitarian crisis in Afghanistan has raised serious concerns about the complete collapse of the country, which is under Taliban control. However, the international community's response has been slow, especially the West's reluctance to recognize the Taliban government, which returned to power in August.
